Donation Needs and In Kind Donations for Clients

All In Kind donations and items the agency needs should be taken to the program office Monday-Saturday 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Checks may be mailed to:

Note: We cannot accept commercial sizes, expired, broken or damaged containers. All foods items must be commercially packaged.

Food Drives

Food drives are very important to ensure that we can adequately meet the food needs for residents who are facing economic hardships.Food Drives are always appreciated. We do ask you to coordinate with us for a specific need list. Often we have too many of one item and a shortage of other critical food items. Food drives ensure that we are always able to meet the needs of our community.

Grocery Card Donations for Clients

Gift Cards are only used to meet the needs of our clients if the need is justified. If you wish to donate a card we would prefer you bring them by and not drop them in the mail.

Groups Needed To Sponsor Meals at The Place of Forsyth County

The Place provides a weekly Wednesday Noon Day Meal and a monthly Senior Luncheon in Forsyth County and we need your help. The luncheons supplement our Surplus and Food pantry. Our objective is to ensure that no one in our community should ever go hungry. Because these are troubled times and so many depend on these resources, we need your help to “share the spirit of community.” The Place needs caring groups to provide the food, serve, and to clean the room.

Donations over the Internet using the Network for Good website

Credit card or online check donations may be made over the Internet using the donation website Network for Good. Go to the Home Page and you will find an icon for Network for Good on the home page. If you click on the icon, you will be taken to the Network for Good website. There you can enter the name of "The Place". It will come up listed as "Place of Forsyth County Inc". Click on the "donate now" button and follow the instructions.

Don’t forget that your financial support is used to help our clients. All monetary donations are designated for direct client assistance.

Agency Volunteer Needs

Volunteer Opportunities -- Regular Schedule

• Thrift Store Volunteers call 678-947-8825. Volunteers needed Monday-Saturdays. We ask for a 4 hour weekly commitment.
• Volunteer opportunities to support our various programs. Call 770-887-1098 for more information.
• Truck driver(s) needed with clean driving record and must be 62 or under to pick up food and bring it to The Place on Wednesdays or to cover during vacation days.

Back To School

• Each year, help is needed the first week of August
• July 1st we will start signing up families that cannot afford to purchase their children's school supplies
• August 2nd will be the last day of sign-up for school supplies
• Donations are needed by Aug 2nd
• August 7th 9 - 11 a.m. Back to School Distribution begins.
