Hello Everyone!! Welcome to the "Volunteer Corner". Here is where you find the updates and volunteer opportunities at The Place.
NEW NAME TAGS are in. Please look for your name tag in the upstairs receptionist area, under the ipad. They are in alphabetical order by your first name. A limited number of lanyards are available if you would like one. They, too, are at the ipad.
You can continue to wear your original one (the one with a magnet) if you like.
Please take your name tag home with you--just bring it back for your shift. :-)
Something new: a QR code on your name tag. (a square in the lower right hand corner)
Use your smart phone's camera, take a picture of it and it will automatically take you to this website. Neat, huh?
St Patrick's Day Week at The Place
St Patrick's Day is Wednesday, March 17--let's have some fun and wear green this upcoming week. See what you have--green pants, shirts, funny hats, necklaces, socks....whatever.
We are so LUCKY to have so many wonderful volunteers!
BREAD RUNNER Needed to Join the "Almost Famous Team"
Have you wanted your car to smell like a bakery? We can help with that.
We need a volunteer to pick up bread-- starting in April--Wednesdays--Publix Laurel Springs.
Pick up at 7.30am and drive back to The Place by 8.30am and unload your bread bounty.
The next group of volunteers then takes the bread and re-assembles into boxes for client food distribution.
Please email me if this sounds like a job for you. Dana@theplaceofforsyth.org

The Garden --at The Place of Forsyth
Our lovely Garden here on site is getting ready for Spring. All produce that is grown in our Garden is given to our clients during food distribution times.
Tara H is our new Volunteer Garden Manager,
She will be working with Amanda G, Volunteer Garden Manager, who has been in charge of the Garden for the past few years.
If you are interested in volunteering in this area, there is no need to sign up--just head over to the Garden on Sundays from 12pm to 2pm-ish.
Tara will also be at the Garden on Mondays and Fridays from 10am to noon.
As there is plenty of room and it is outside, kids with parents are welcome to help.
